Anyone hear what they are getting. I heard it is a super pumper with a 2500 gallon tank, hurst tool, command center, multi level haz mat, foam, ladders, bells, whisltes. I even hear they got a k40 cb antenna

How bout that, Islip Terrace the "TERRIBLE" is doing something in regards to improving our firematics, which we always do.....screw the BS you all talk about, almost all of which is invalid. Once again we try to stir up stupid rumors and complaints about the ITFD, even when we are doing our best to improve our department, especially by acquiring a top of the line pumper. So do what you want with this illegitimate post and complain about the tools associated with this truck, but not me, I'll proudly say that I'm going to get on this top of the line pumper and do the job that every single member of this department vows to do, that being, whatever’s asked. So enjoy your gossip, and bash all you want.

I have amazed yself. I post a bs thread, about the new engine that is being built. I make up what it will have, hell, I even added a k40. You then call the post stupid, because of me making fun of the tools associated ont his truck. Obviously you have no idea what is on this truck. Go back, have a bud, and read what was written. Total bs, no fact or fiction. Yes, they are getting a class A engine, best of luck with it, but before you interject your stupidity on this board, god damnnnnnn, know what you are talking about.

I thought the k40 was a great idea, still looks good on anything out there. Oh by the way, I am not affilitated with or in, or hang with anyone from the Terrace. first of all you retard learn how to spell , maybe they should have took some of that 400k and gave you some spelling classes. secondly, maybe you were looking at the wrong truck, that thing is not the cats ass like everybody is making it out to be, the seats suck, the doors on the body are going to be nothing but problems when the bad wheather comes and there is sand and salt on the roads, cant wait to see that. Thirdly, your company may have quanity, but it does not have quality. there are guys in that company that couldnt put out a paper bag if was on fire. i guess that all stems down from the officers of the company. i think the hero of the firefighting world better come up with some good drills for the year 05, and stop worring about bossing people around down at the sub. as far as the other two go , the 2nd is a nice guy and knowledgable but needs to learn to shut up once in a while , and the other needs to get his head out of everybodys ass and enjoy the sunlight sometimes, in being a capt. of a company for the second time around you would think he would know that. :lol: :lol:

OK should the IT FD respond as separate companies? Or as a Fire dept. What do I mean ?? Why the hell are Class "A" firefighters pulled off a Truck/engine in order to be replaced with a member of that trucks/engine company member of the same class!

Ninetyfive percent go all the way, do an excellant job, seem to get what they need or want. Five percent frustrated, never got anywhere or couldn't properly explain what they wanted with all the shouting and ravings that they do. So they seem to move on to this site and get more satisfaction privately than by standing up at a monthly meeting, exec board meeting or even bieng listened too in the Kitchen on Sunday drills. No management is holding anybody back at ITFD from what I see , so come down and speak your ideas. If it doesn't get put in place, don't blame the department or it's management, or it's companies..

Can't really bitch at those who got their projects, or people put in place, I'd like too I but gotta realize. Call them insiders or whatever, they all organized and put it together from out of nowhere ten years ago with the support of everyone who felt they got very little, stood up and bucked the management in person, not on an internet board. They all seemed to propose plans calmly, make concessions if everybody didn't like every point of it, ask people to get on the train and support it, or get off, no hard feelings either way. Got it done. Good bad or indifferent, seen more openess and changes in the past ten years than the thirty years before here.
ITFD still the best, and evidently getting better.

In your opinion does that possition hold any real power at a fire scene Over the Chiefs or Line officers?? If so what? and if not why do we need that possition? Wouldn't his issued vehicle be better used by line officers on a rotating basis?

From what I know, Islip Terrace went 50 plus years without a paid district manager, or even a free one. the maintance aspect of having a person at house is excellant as it will save us, the taxpayers money, and is an asvantage to all who respond

No member of the ITFD made a request or when spoken too was available. (evidently you were not on the short list, 'prob 'cause you bitch in backrooms like this)
Have a suspicion how funds are bieng spent? The State Comptroller has an office in Hauppauge, look in the Government pages of the phone book, give 'em a call.. (Don't worry, they keep your name out of it.)
Why is it YOU NEED A BABYSITTER? Commissioners are unpaid, like you, but have to spend a tremendous amount of personal time running down work orders, purchase requests, medical filings and followup, staff of employees, scheduling. Most of which is more productive when done during the business day when most of them are working. Position description is in S.C.C.S. listings, look it up, you seem good on the web. (Again knowledgeable, every voucher and check is reviewed and signed by all five before it goes out, so where do you come up with the mistrust thing, if you have to sign it, you know about it, right?)
No (questionable) civil service papers, you must be listening to a former employee, or one yourself, a number of candidates come on the table and were interviewed / discussed. But again, complain to the Board directly or S.C.C.S., under the law and you can see and get a copy of fully executed applications and approvals of status.
Why a Safety Officer? I guess you didn't get that job either, or obviously are not qualified since you don't realize that the position plays heavily in just about every manual from Suffolk Count Basic, Incident Command System to OSHA to NFPA to even IAFF.
Free for you to read in your own bylaw, by the way since you are so much more qualified, check the "Islip Terrace Fire Department Health and Safety" attachment that the Chief's and Board put in place in '99. (Read it, really and then come back here and say who is deemed qualified or not.)
I know I am doing this out of order, but you seem to be the only one with your head up you a$$.

Ok well then if what you say is true and not just some sort of slander on this chief or department and if you really are so concerned about his speed you should not be posting it here. What you should be doing is calling the SCPD or contacting the fire department where this person is chief. Have a set of balls, give them your name, and tell them exactly what you saw. If everyone who saw this did the same thing then the chief would get the word to slow down and if not then at least he would realize that people are noticing his speed and if something happens then possibility it will come back to bite him in the ass.
