I am a longtime Long Beach resident and i am appauled at action of yet another nypd cop. The nypd cop was drunk and causing a scene. As the Long Beach officers tried to calm him down he assaulted a Long Beach cop. The Long Beach officer was hospitalized with a life threatening injury. This nypd cop not only should lose his job, but should be incarcerated. The nypd should be more selective in their hiring. How many times does an nypd cop have to commit a felony before the nypd screens their candidates better.

This is what happens when you lower the standards to have people come on when they are one step above the bad guys. I came on the job when you had to wear your hat when out of the car and not smoke in public . Small things but it showed the public we were respected

What started this whole incident in LB? What did this NYPD cop do and how is the LB cop hurt? What are his "life-threatening" injuries? I didn't see anything @ this story in the papers or News 12

It should have been on channel 12 news!! It was Irish day, and the city of LB had to make sure it appeared that it was another successful "Irish Day" The Lb cops were in uniform and the drunk NYPD cop was ranting racial slurs as the Lb cops tried to calm him down. He assulted the cop. The LB cop, as i understand it was bitten by the NYPD cop. The result being surgery, and an infection(life threatening) that landed him in the hospital for 5 days. There absolutely should have been publicity on this incident. It is a shame that many incidents get buried.
Nice,,,,,

I constantly read your post on this site. you are always bashing the police on some issue. Your post are easy to recognize because of your unique writing style. If you dont know what I am refering to perhaps you shuold take an english class. I suggest you try a improve your life by spending less time on this site and more time obtaining your GED. untill then STFU. This site is intended for cops to discuss police issues. You are mot welcome and were not invited. Perhaps there is a site for "tailgunners" on the garbage truck.

This is what you get from a free examination that was administered 5 days a week. With lowered background checks and reduced qualifications, they have accepted perps. My squad has received 4 separate civilian complaints from city cops this year. One female officer even gave the desk cop a complaint while she was waiting in the lobby. Don't fool yourselves. They always think they're better than us and most hate us.
I know there's many great ones, but it seems what ever we do for them is not enough. Courtesies, escorts, special treatment for them and their families, etc., and they still reciprocate with backstabbing remarks and actions. They zing us whenever they can. They ain't our brothers like of years passed.

Nearly every encounter with nypd cops results in bad feelings or a complaint.
Violating ops and getting locked up, leaving guns lying around resulting in cps referrals, ia hearings (where I got meals and miles + change of tour to 1PP).
Its a damn shame.

What's a shame is that you're characterizing an entire agency over a few observations and anecdotes. Those of us with prior city time know that the NYPD is the greatest agency in this country with tremendous resources and a rich history. They're serving at the front lines of American Policing's latest challenge - Homeland Security. Yes, as in all of our jobs, political machinations have created problems, but overall it remains a model for most other jobs.
If you were truely a cop, you'd realize that.

I want you to consider if your obsession with bashing cops is having a negative effect on your social life. You are spending your Saturday night making post after post on a police issue website when you are not even a cop. Everytime we read one of your post you reenforce what a pathetic loser you are. As for the cop's reply, his post seem to contain typos probably due to the fact that he actually has a life and does not spend his every waking moment typing on a keyboard. What is your excuse? I have been a Suffolk cop for 22 years. I wish my biggest headache involved dealing with off duty cops. I use to hear that complaint from our highway guys and my response would be, if that is your biggest headache you have a great job. Other than the isolated knucklehead that every job has I very rarely have a negative contact with guys from the city job. This job is a brotherhood and we should always remember that.

Look, the other side is spending HUNDRED OF THOUSANDS of taxpayer's dollars to communicate his political message. First, to temper any criticism that may appear in the news, second, to convince the public that he'll save them from the boogeymen (first undocumented latinos, now cops), and third, the majority of the anti-cop posts here are organized by his camp to disorganize you, get you to fight amongst yourselves, and to screw with your morale.
If you haven't figured it out yet, the heirs of are NOT your friends either. Look at what's censored from this board. How brilliant for a PR firm to control a board where they could suck you all in, control the discussion, and log the IPs.

I hate to burst your bubble, I am from another agency(papd). I have had a few dealings with scpd, 2 bad ones from the dickbags that worked hiway, and a handful of good ones from the p.o.s who patrol my neighborhood.
I consider myself a fairly average cop, I dont know every sc cop, or even "most " of them. There are dicks on sc, there are dicks on my job, there are dicks on every job you mentioned.
If you are a cop and you've had run ins with "most but not all" the cops on any job, then you got issues.
When people like yourself post here about all the cops you talk to, and its all idscussing one dept, in this case scpd, and everyone thinks they are dicks then you have got issues...
