what is the story on a possible building moratorium under consideration in Cove Neck? The Village already has maximum area zoning, and can easily support any further development.

New development is a drain on village revenues. The taxes paid never cover the long term costs of new development, while the damage from overdevelopment can never be undone. Anyone who thinks development is a cure should go live on the south shore, where they belong.

Only some twisted, lying developer would push new development. Big money for them at the expense of the quality of life for everyone else. And if you want to look at Oyster Bay Cove, take a look at the trash trying to do max density development there. We should pray that they hold firm and don't let it happen. It's like a disease.

Finally someone with some common sense!

All of your assertions are absolutely correct. The problem with OBC is that residents seem oblivious to the fact that the develpment(s) being proposed are CERTAIN to be detrimental to the character of OBC.

Cove Neck should NOT make the same mistake.

Has anyone seen any deer on Cove Neck lately?

I heard that one showed up at Sagamore Hill over the summer. I wonder if it is an escape from one of our eccentric neighbors (think turkeys), or if it swam or walked on the ice from Lloyd Neck.

Man, those "hoofed locusts" will do a job on your rhododendron!
