I am sure if the SCPD had the couple hundred extra cops they say they need this murder would have never happened.

If won't prevent any particular crime, smart alec, but had staffing not been destroyed, this horrific, emerging pattern of crime would not be happening in Suffolk. I take no pleasure in telling you that one year from now, this county will show a dramatic increase in violent crime, over and above that of surrounding jurisdictions.

Andy was a C/O and not PD. He was a co-worker and a good guy, family man, just working extra to help his brother out on the side. Why I'm explaining this to a troll I really don't know, but the reading public should know fact from fiction.

It used to be that the majority of homicides were in fact incidents like this in suffolk. with an occasional dwi fatal. Now they are the minority. People are getting shot in drive bys, attempted robberies, and home invasions.
It would be foolish to believe that more police would have stopped this domestic violence homicide, but with proper staffing, and proper management of the dept by a competent county govt and police admin, cops wouldnt come on here and post

Absolutely! You dont have a police dept like NYPD who has approximately 40,000 cops. You have apprx 1700, and droping in #'s every year. Once it is lost in Suffolk, which may already be too late, you wont be able to get it back! You dont have the size in manpower to saturate an area and effectively remove a large criminal element. What your commisioner dormer is doing is useless. Sending 5-10 cops in an area every 7 weeks is ridiculous and will do nothing in the long run. Suffolk Police always did a very effective job in keeping the community safe. Remeber how they took down the bike gangs years ago. Now with other rising gangs knowing that the police dept doesnt have the size and resources to fight crime any longer, they are moving to Suffolk.

Its silly to hear posts sarcatically commenting on how if you had more cops you would stop all murders. Thats just ignorant, crime will always happen in some form. Thats why you neep law enforcement. However, You better hope they do start hiring cops, because the 200 they plan on hiring will not make up for the 400 that are already long retired and the upcoming retirements during the year. Steve Levy has refused to hire police over the years and the public will suffer for this. Not out of spite from the police. They do their job. Its because the criminal element is prevailing and the resources you used to have are no longer there to combat it. Dormer wants a reactive police dept, and thats what has happened out there in Suffolk.

There you have it. Start filling the vacant police positions. Its time already. Levy might want to look at this election day, the public doesnt appear to be too happy with his desicions. His right hand man Zwirn got put in his place.

We don't need more cops. Just "relax" the laws that prevent people from defending themselves. A well placed bullet would solve alot of our crime problems, if only we weren't so scared of getting in trouble. Oh I was afraid for my life blah blah.. he tried to kill me first blah blah.. Remove the need for a good excuse, and replace it for the need for good aim.

OK moron, you are right! Levy is an a hole, but seriously? Fort Salonga is not a high crime area! What do you suggest more cops will do in this situation? The extra 2000 can be used for the "domestic breakfast follow up unit"?

For example, if a sector car handles an 85 the night before between husband and wife because of an argument over whether or not to watch dancing with the stars or the yankees and a couple of dishes get broken, the following morning the extra cop, also a trained chef will go to the house for a follow up investigation, cook the couple a pancake breakfast and be at the ready to standby in case it blows up into violence the next morning? Are you seriously a fuckin idiot? Extra cops do not prevent domestic homicide you moron!

Are you referring to the one left on a dark desolate road that has virtually no traffic? Quite a bit different than a body left lying unnoticed 10 feet from an accident scene. Or are you referring to the body left lying all night because Dormer cut homicide's call out pay? Try again, douche bag.

I saw a detective sergeant get screwed because he 'missed' finding a body a block away and at the back door of a home not involved in a wild shoot-out. He was the on the scene detective supervisor that night. You want an excuse to zing someone - you got it.

How about those NYPD detectives that were looking for the jeweler. They went to his place of business in the Diamond District and didn't look in the steamer trunk. I got a hundred more for you.

The body wasn't a block away and behind a house. It was lying along the center divider on the Sunrise Hwy. It was only several feet away from the sheriffs. They forgot about surveying the scene properly and the victim may had bled to death.

But that's quite alright by your standards.
