The Yank Mes can lose like they are good at doing--and they will. They'll be looking way up at the Mets and Red Sox as well before long. While their worthless owner is descending into madness, they'll be descending into last place. Just as it should be.

Lets see;

SCPBA - 12 million(avg. 18 days per cop) for two 3 year arbs and to be left alone. Oh and get motorcyles back, whoopie!

SCDSPBA - 1.1 million(avg 14 days per dep) for two 3 year arbs and 5 additional investigator positions.

Yup big blue did MUCH BETTER, right Jeff?

I was always interested in law enforcement. Since I couldn't pass the police test I became a dep, but it's the same thing. I remind everybody that we're policemen under the law. We have nicer hats than cops. The hats make us look like upstate cops. I wouldn't want the extra money anyway. I would rather be very, very professionalz.

yes we all know you guys are only in law enforcement for the money, could care less about helping the public or any of the other bs arguments you try to use to justify your salaries. yes, i am proud to be in law enforcement, proud to be a professional, and proud to help the public.... and i wouldnt want to live my life miserably, bitching about everything, like the big boys in blue do (not to mention you are despised by the public and other law enforcement agencies)

Let's wait until December 2nd to do the victory dance... remember he can still back out! BTW....Some "agreement".... he can opt out... and IF the agreement goes through we don't get the money back unless he commits a "Major" violation.... so he can still have us bleed to death with a bunch of minor violations.... nice going guys!

Look at the bullet point list the PBA put out.... doesn't look like much of an agreement to me! I'd say $7000 a person was a pretty big price to pay.... but then again.... Jeff and the Boyz will be getting their $$$ a lot sooner!

I know you are a PBA hater, but if you are a cop, as much as it might hurt your pride(since you already know everything), go ask your delegate. If you want you can get a full copy of the MOA from the office.
If you had done that before posting your opinion, you would see you are wrong.
The MOA has a specific list of major violations within it that are described as "examples of, but not limited to..." which means that there are specific items which are listed as major, but any or all of the rest could be considered major if the arbitraitor deems it to be. If the violation is a major, the county must repay the entire 12mil, with interest at your current rate of pay within 120 days, plus face the potential of further penalty to be determined by the arbitraitor. If it is deemed minor, then the arbitraitor will determine the penalty to the county.

I dont know about you, but I'm happy to LEND the county 7000 now. It will be worth alot more than that when I retire.
But I guess you could have negotioted a much better deal.

you see,i took your advice, called my delegate, and to my "surprise",he didn't have as much info as you display on this board, for all the public to read into and tear apart. maybe you should run for a pba spot since you seem to know it all. the ones i have dealt with are usually pretty hush-hush, leading most of the members wondering if there are little secrets they need to hide. it's easier just to come on here and ask you. and also, unlike you, i really could use that retro right now. if i wanted to make an investment with my money to get a good return in the future, i don't need the pba making that decision for me. we've seen some of the moves they've made. maybe jeff's kid can give me some sound investment advice, or i can just call the baby from the e-trade commercials, they look the same age. the retro isn't def ours either, so that 12 mil is going to be handed over no matter what.

Hold up there Sparky.... since YOU seem to know it all! Let me ask this of you... why should ANY VIOLATION of the agreement not trigger getting back the $$$ WE'RE putting in???? Be it "Major" or "Minor"??? What kind of "agreement" is it when we're on the hook for $12 million and have to fight it out to get it back when the other side VIOLATES this agreement in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM? And in case you haven't noticed... the whole "arbitrator deems" issue is one that can last YEARS! Just take a look at the current contract arbitration process!

So genius.... we give $12 million over to Stevie... he violates the agreement (which we all know he will).... and WE have to get the lawyers involved and spent MORE money... and wait YEARS to get it back under this "agreement". No thanks... I don't much like kool-aid.

Having been around a bit longer than you (just a guess) I can tell you right now that dealing with the devil NEVER ends well. This agreement is nice for a select few.... but for the cop with 5 years on... it's a raw deal!

Ha ha. he's right. I was against seasonals. I also think the current advertising campaign sucks. I think the board does behave like the cosa nosta sometimes. I think they should send Jeff to finishing school. and I'm not sold on the people being groomed to take over when Jeff and company leave.
That being said, I think the deal was a good one considering the current political landscape in the county.
and, for at least a little while people are actually discussing a topic that affects us all, not posting fat frailer jokes. besides, i think its a thyroid problem. he cant help it.
