When sidewalks are lifted or dangerous, You can call the Highway Dept. in your Town. They will send a inspector to see what the problem is. If a tree lifted they sidewalk, they will removed the tree and plant a tree whose roots grow down instead instead of outward. They will give You a estimate of the number of squares that need to be replaced. The Town will give You the option, You finding a Contractor or they will do the job.

Curbs, apron cuts are the property of the Town are are repaired and replaced by all the Towns. Curbs are often lifted by tree roots, it is unusual for a apron to be lifted, but it happens.

The price the Towns charged was $ 75.00 per concrete square. Often Private Contractors charged a little less to get their feet in your door. Once most people start replacing a few squares they decide to have them all replaced. The the front walk to their house and driveway. The job just keeps growing for the Contractor.

I don't see any lies here. That house does have a sidewalk assessment. Is it Murray's house? That is a corner house. Did it get a new sidewalk on both sides of the house for one grand? The concrete alone costs more. How did you know that the Highway Dept. is in charge of sidewalks? Are u the hwy comissh? If you're the commish, is that her house and who put that sidewalk in?

1. The owner of 59 Knoll Lane had his/her sidewalk inspected by a TOH inspector and it was determined that the sidewalk was "BAD".

2. The owner of 59 Knoll Lane received a certified letter from the Town of Hempstead notifying the owner to repair his/her sidewalk, or the Town of Hempstead will.

3. The owner of 59 Knoll Lane ignored the certified letter issued by the Town of Hempstead and refused to repair his/her sidewalk.

4.
