Seems like the SITE (Suffolk Intensified Traffic Enforcement) unit has been disbanded. Very quietly, witout the fanfare given it's creation. So while traffic, fatal accidents and general mayhem has increased on our roads, Rich and Steve have seen fit to get rid out this county wide enforcement unit.

Yes it has been disbanded. Most of the PO's have been reassigned to the Motor Carrier Safety Unit. They apparently are not receiving the proper training necessary to perform the duties of the job. There are also not enough vehicles assigned to the unit to accomodate the officers.

Good Riddance to the SITE team. I have more than a few good guys I work with who have had close family with PBA cards get written by those guys. Ship them all off to Motor Carrier where they can play with the big trucks by Yaphank Ave exit.

Who could that be? I know of one such person who is hooked with a powerful Pol who has a birdie on his shoulder in the form of an Eagle. I also hear he has a pretty fat IA file. Are we talking about the same guy? Are there more than one such person!!!!

Guy I'm talking about works in an office in Hauppauge... not in patrol.

ONE AND THE SAME. HE ALSO lived 4 doors away from the main informant in the recent cop case. He did so for 4 years. The informant testified in the grand jury concerning his being shot at in front of his home on 4/28/02 from a car he and the shooter stole on 12/25/01, and now used by the shooter to kill him that a 'neighbor' stopped by the next day and inquired of his health. He also testified the neighbor told him about the car that was dumped and found as to it's history, when it was stolen and where it was stolen from. When asked by ADA Timmons ( the same Timmons who persecuted the cop case ) what his neighbor's name was, the informant said, "I don't know". And that was the end of the questions regarding that matter. Not a question as to "who the F are you and how the F do you know this?" NOTHING!!! Now I don't know who this is for a fact, but consider it is an enclosed block of maybe 12-13 homes, and consider one of them is a SCPD police officer, then you take a guess who it is.

Also, it was said that a certain police officer, now a convicted drug dealer ( he really isn't a drug dealer, he just did a stupid thing) was on Tom Spota's campaign with the 'neighbor' and it is said he ofter visited him at his home. They were pals. It was also indicated in the DA's investigation from an informant that the only person he knew who knew the informant who lived on the same block was the as the cop was the same guy who knew the informant who testified at the cop trial. Mr. T you used the word 'coincidence' a lot in the trial of the cop. How do you like this coincidence? And why didn't you ask the next question - who is this neighbor that knew so much? Because you stupidly asked the question you already had the answer to . That's why. But you got away with it - for now.

I read it and I understand what I was trying to say but after reviewing it I don't understand one part of it.

What I was saying is that there was another informant who gave a statement to the police that said the only cop he knew who knew the informant who testified in the cop case was the friend of the neighbor of the informant. That this now convicted cop who did time for drug dealing. He wasn't a drug dealer, he just did a stupid thing trying to save his big investment with his Pied Piper.

That convicted cop worked on the Spota campaign with the guy in Hauppauge. That Hauppague guy is probably the same guy who lived down the corner of the informant. If he is the same guy and he is the 'neighbor'' who provided him with confidential information then how well did he know this thief to be able to give him this information?

Interesting story.

Are we talking about the same guy though? CO of Det. in the DA's office?

Went from Det. LT all the way to Insp. in the same command?

We are talkling about the same guy. I am in the library posting this message as i have been banned from my computer. I also changed my Username to give you some time before this message is erased.

I can't tell you who the 'neighbor' was but you can draw your own conclusions. I can't tell you 100% that the same person u are referring to lived down the block from the informant. All i can tell you the person I mention has the same first and last name, and appears to be the same age.

And that person probably lived in the same neighborhood in 1979. You can only imagine what that is about. I think you know.
