Did I write or claim that SCPD got every dwi off the road? No, I did not. I simply pointed out the fact that, on a roadway that is the reponsibility of the Deps, their lack of enforcement activity has resulted in the injury of 2 SCPD officers by drivers that were DWI.

I WILL however unequivocally state that SCPD had MANY, MANY more DWI arrests when they had the highways than the Depuites do.

The accident was on the on ramp of the expressway so the driver came right from the service rd which is patrolled by the SCPD. Why didn't they catch this guy before he entered the expressway?

Assuming they didnt shoot in from Queens, Nassau, or Riverhead....granted not every dwi gets collared in suffolk jurisdiction, but at the end of the year, when everything is tallied scpd will still be around 5k dwis....and the deps, less then 1 a day
