Never have I seen so many signs out for Huntington town board members and so early. For the last month supervisor Petrone and councilmen Besen and Cuthbertson have flooded Huntington with their lawn signs. They have never done this before so why now ?
I have noticed many signs posted that say
Huntington Town Board 5-0 Must Go Maybe this and the fact many many people seem to loathe Petrone and Cuthbertson this could be a big break for some Republicans.

Suffolk police have arrested a Town of Huntington employee on charges of stealing some Republican campaign signs in Huntington on Saturday, a police spokeswoman said Thursday.
Richard Hall, 43, of Huntington Station, was arrested Tuesday night. Police said he has been charged with two counts of petty larceny and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property. He was issued a desk appearance ticket.
Hall could not be reached for comment.
Two Republican candidates for town board seats, Mark Mayoka and Eugene Cook, filed a complaint with the Second Precinct on Saturday.
Cook said that on Saturday morning more than 300 signs he had placed during the previous week were missing. Later, he noticed two men in a blue Cadillac taking the signs at the corner of Park Avenue and Main Street.
Cook said he recognized Hall as someone he had seen around town, and as a Democratic committee worker he had bought a sandwich for a few weeks earlier.
Cook said he followed the two men, who soon pulled over and began dumping the signs. He said his signs alone cost about $1,800 plus shipping.
Police are still investigating.
Huntington Democratic Committee Chair Mary Collins said Thursday that Hall is a volunteer for the committee.
“We ask people to do a variety of things,” Collins said. “Things like making phone calls or going to the Fall fairs, handing out fliers.”
She said volunteers are not asked to remove signs belonging to other parties.
“Absolutely not,” Collins said. “It’s certainly nothing we encourage, authorize or condone.”
Collins said she did not know if Hall would continue to volunteer for the committee.
“He’s been accused of something but that doesn’t mean that the person’s guilty,” Collins said. “Something like this has never happened in my 30 years of Democratic politics.”
A statement released Wednesday by A.J. Carter, the town’s public information officer, said Hall works in the general services department.

No different than the republicans. Big whoop.
Town Workers bosses are political appointees who serve at the pleasure of their masters. most of these appointments are reletaves or friends. The problem in huntington is the blue collar unit gets a lot of patronage as they have been in power over 20 years. The pigs have been feeding in them public trough for to long one blue colar employee has a $60,000 a year night job studying to be a lawyer. All are afraid to tel the emprore e is naked . The blue collar union had a brother get his law degree working nights under Henry.Bill Naughton has since made the Highway a professional operation only to have his budget slashed by the5-0 people. Time for a change at town hall if left alone marks relitives will run the town

Here at the 2nd floor Dems are thinking their time is ending soon. Besen the wanna be petrone was tossed out with Cuthbertson squeaking by.
Cook and the Republicans may be a force to be reckoned with as the town becomes more and more ghettoish in the center and spreading.
Petrone spent a fortune on his cronies to pull it off. He's a good reason for having term limits. He's alienated the entire suffolk county police force which is not an easy thing to do.
Big sassy mouth Berland and the never say anything bad or good Jackson will be next to go.

Just when things seemed to go a little wrong for the dems it gets a whole lot worse. Councilmanic district election is set for 12/22/09. Cuthbertson's squeaker win over Cook is now being looked at by attorney's and at the BOE.
Cuthbertson may still come out the loser after all the ballots are opened. If councilmanic election wins then they are all up for re election next year and a Republican town board may be in the making.
