He's a weasel, always will be. He is actively working agianst his own deal, stiring the public pot over PD salaries so he can back out of the deal or paint himself as the hero when the arbitrator grants a contract and the PERB gives HPB back to the PD

What you fail to mention is that I choose to pay for the service provided by Cablevision. And if I am no longer satisfied with their service I can choose NOT to and seek those services elsewhere.
However, I am forced to pay for your bloated budget, lackadaisical,at best, attitude and utter disdain your the general public.
The fact that you make more than double the pay of the average person here on the Island AND you see nothing wrong with it speaks volumes about why the taxpayers here on the Island feel as they do.

although i agree that there should be SOME extra compensation for dangerous work, but you do not deserve DOUBLE the average citizen's income because you work in a more dangerous profession. that was your choice.

I understand your concern as a taxpayer, but what is the number you would put on when you leave for work and kiss your children you know you may not come home. What is it worth to pay the person who runs towards situations most choose to run from. What should the pay be for someone who goes to calls where a husband just stabbed his wife, pulls over a car full of gang members who just did a drive by shooting, goings into a house that is being robbed, goes into a burning building to save a life with no gear, performs CPR on your loved one because an ambulance is 5 minutes away, among many other things, that police officers do on a daily basis. What is the right amount to pay those people? All I do is ask to compair what you make and add what you think is fair, come up with a number. Keep in mind you must include they work holidays, so what is the price you would put on missing your child open their christmas presents or seeing a loved one, they work evenings, so what is the price you put on missing your childs first concert at school or baseball game, they work in all weather, so what is the price you put on being out in hurricanes and snow storms doing all that is listed above.
If you took the time to read this all then I think you understand the point. I am proud of our police

Please don't tell me you didn't see this coming. Levy is not a benevolent individual, why would he have a sudden change of heart and offer up a deal? It's all part of his plan. Didn't your mother tell you that you NEVER make a deal with the devil.

The articles were ready days ago, levy was waiting for us to blindly sign off on his version of the contract.
What a waste. Those are the best ones hes got. gone for nothing.
by the time anything happens the stories will be really old.
Very few people outside of his hacks even commented.

newsday - "Long Island workers brought home an average wage of $49,010 last year -- an increase of about 20 percent since 2002. Managers made $121,950, 19 percent more"
Say what you will about the cops, no one survives on long island making 49K. This average wage isn't representative of the average long island professional or homeowner.

thats because per capita income is a faulty statistic. you want to know how it is calculated? total population divided by total population http://www.ehow.com/how_4555597_calculate-per-capita-income.html
total population includes babies and retirees.
use a little common sense people. how much in taxes is taken out of a 49k salary? Do you thing the average home at 529K
http://www.trulia.com/home_prices/New_York/Suffolk_County-heat_map/
can be purchased on that salary, along with a car, and all other bills on that salary?
The newsday article was an example of poor investigative reporting that only had shock value.

You define danger as death only? Well what about for starters who shows up for these dangerous situations? Cops. We are the 1st on scene after a dangerous incident. We either make it safe, or secure it until someone else can.
Next why are those jobs dangerous? Entry level with little training, or prone to be victimized...n either of which define a law enforcement job
