Stop all of your crying! Levy sold the county out long ago. He couldnt care less about the public. He is so anti cop, he could have done a better deal with the PBA long ago, kept highway patrol with 10.5 million that the state was offering along with Suffolk countys own traffic court system keeping the majority of the ticket money in the county and allowing plea barganing to give the motorist a break.
Instead he killed the taxpayers with overtime money for the shreiffs to man the roads that they were never equiped to handle. And training for them, equipment for them all while the same SCPD highway cops were still on the job.
Now after costing taxpayers money and losing out on a sweetheart deal the State offered a year ago, the Sheriffs will be coming off the highways anyway, and it was all to F with the PBA! Levy has mishandled the county over and over again!
He should get this contract finished with the PBA quickly and allow this all to go away. The past 2 years all I have seen is that Levy is willing to put his own agendas before the best interests of Suffolk County citizens!

Whats funny is 2 years ago when we approached levy with our initial contract offer, and he refused, I posted here when all is said and done the arb board will give us more then we asked levy for.


We are far from bankrupting the county, in fact the rasies will be offset by the ticket surcharge, and not even touch the 1/3 police tax that is used in areas other then police finance

why is it the cops are greedy for wanting money that was already theirs. and why is it law enforcement that always has to give back to make up for county budget shortfalls. did the police do a poor job of managing the counties funds or was it the county executive and county legislature. give a few beans back to the taxpayer, not every cop is making a million dollars, contrary to what this internet forum thinks, they have bills to pay also, and many, especially the divorced ones, are living paycheck to paycheck like everyone else. also the greedy cops will never bankrupt this county , the teachers will, the cops could be working for free and Levy's budget would still be coming up short.

No, probably not! The deps will lose perb and as someone else posted, its not most cops dream job.
