Good money, they make more then any other municipality that includes Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, loyd harbor, clarkstown, hempstead etc. If you got 5 years on its 96-101k, 15 yrs on its 115- 120k just for walkin in the door nothing else when o/t occurs (which is when you want it to usually) longevity is built into your o/t rate, and much more hidden $. Not bad for a square badge huh wisea**. The pa must have rejected you as you are clearly swallowing your tongue reading this right now. jag is assuming that you are just starting out w/ no home. most people i know otj have a home when they hit top step trade up to one of those nicer houses. the point in civil service always was the post retirement, (other than never getting a summons from one of your brothers or sisters) benefits, 1/2 salary, cash in your sick/vacation days, health benefits, now most of these jobs are very well paying. the trick is to get in at a young age, kill yourself on the o/t, get all the needed toys, then settle down and have a family. evryone looks at scpd as high paying but the deputies who make less match or exceed our pay with a decent amount of o/t, and they're not killing themselves either. as far as taxes deferred comp the heck out of your salary. get a few deductions, house, kids, some little home business on the side,( i know a guy who breeds fish on the side, w/ 4 withholdings gets 6-7000
back every year, legit) you're ahead of the game.

Regarding your question about were is jetblue I believe it is terminal 6 however they are currently buying the old twa known as terminal 5 @JKF but they also well be going international and will be part time at terminal 4. All the more reason for more square badges intensely patrolling those terminal not costing the tax payers a dime.

Next subject: We do know who you are based on your info plus a little help from bads check. You said your boyfriend/ girlfriend or whatever left the pa for a better job w/ equal pay I don't know about a better job but definitely not equal pay by comparison of the two, so lets see he/she is not in the leo pa classes that went in before 9/11 b/c he would had to good to leave IE: seniority, K-9, and details etc. So he/she must be in either the 102, 103 104 105 pa academy classes, B/C the pa hired about 550 people post 9/11 and approx 95% were from nypd the 102, 104, and 105 classes were solely for leo's and from there only a handful quit or were forced to resign from the pa. A couple went back to the nypd from the 102 class b/c they were in good details and had hooks including one person who asked to come back and was told just take the next test which should be given in 2010, gee I wonder if that was yours fatticatti. A couple in the 104 class who were forced to resign for bullsh*t reasons ( one was a nypd cop for 7 yrs, a Sgt in the midtown area and who is now in the July 04 nypd class... again. The other is in a academy in the state of MD ) Two who were fired in the 105 class and another who rolled over to scpd in 12/ 02 plus another who rolled over to scpd in 12/03. There was also a fndy guy who went back from the 106 class b/c he didn't like it there and yet one more who left the pa for king point pd 7/8 months ago.
So lets see where were at with you Since you keep mentioning the airports and JFK that would mean your boyfriend/ girlfriend was either the 102/104 class since they were forced to stay there after the academy and was not able to get a feel for what the port was all about which means your significant other was either a reject from the port or was the one from the 102 class who was in the 12/03 or about that time scpd put in the class. So from there we know who your boy/girlfriend is.
