I am a Police Officer in another agency. If this guy actually said this and this is not just another fabrication by the SCPBA, then all I can say is wow - what an f-ing dope! If he thinks that finding a good vantage point and "taking in the scene", making mental and physical notes on the conditions of the scene, conditions/positioning of the body, items left behind, viewable windows from nearby homes, cameras or atm that might have picked something up means the Detective was just "standing around" then I pitty the SCPD because you have a very complete moron at the helm.

A detective could be on the scene and go to sleep in the car and still be able to learn something. Dickie, please keep quiet so the public doesn't know how dumb you really are.

Scpd homicide did care enough to catch the guy within a couple days, and thats all that matters

Where was the forensics team? Why weren't they called out? Ah
must be trying to save a few bucks on ot. So now Homicide is on 20 out of 24 hours, but they can't start an investigation til forensics is done. And forensics doesn't work around the clock ? How does that make sense?

There is not a professional in law enforcement any where in this country who, when reading today's statements by Com. Dormer,doesn't realize these statements are bizzare,untrue,unprofessional, and made by a person who is obviously out of touch with reality. I would understand a statement of this type by the former Com.,who had no law enforcement background.Dormer has an extensive Law Enforcement background. He therefore makes these statements because he has lost his ability to reason and recall his training, or he is totally doing some one elses bidding and is aware he is lying.

dormer was the one exploiting the SDA when he took the standby away. they gave concessions, and he stuck it up their ass and took more. it's that simple. 1 1/2 hours of pay is really not that much to pay a guy to sit by his phone,be ready at a moments notice,and respond to a scene between 1am-9am. the shit storm he caused is going to cost the county a hell of alot more in a civil action.
