My life was fine until the 3rd precinct sent JUSTO RIVERA & ANTHONY LETO. Two violent cops who barged into my home without going by regulations then BULLIED ME, a mother in front of my son. What is the job like. Good job kind of boaring How is the money? I think top out @ 55,000.00. How many Deputy Sheriff's are in uniform 250 deputies total. I think about 30 Deps were NYPD lots of experience They are make it a legitamite gig but they don't do much since they department is not proactive and I feel the Sheriff does not let them do much enforcement. Some V and T but that does not count. Time counts on the front if you were a cop but other than that I dont Know. Retirement Age no age 20 year Bill.

Is it worth it to leave the FDNY for the suffolk county deps.

[yes]

Deputies make on average over 100k, don't pay city taxes, work in Suffolk, all your fire time will count toward your 20 as a dep on the front end. You will work more days a month, you will be junior, you have to go to a 6 month plus academy that is very tough.

You do more police work in the FDNY then suffolk deputies. If you want to be a police officer, and actually do police work. Suffolk Dep. is not the way to go.

I did forget to mention that we also have to put up with jealous jail guards. Not a big deal. It is kind of fun to watch them cry all the time, they are just jealous. You must deal with the same thing now that you have EMS calling itself FDNY.

I'm so jealous. I'm greener than former Sheriff Mahoney's palms. By all means, if you want to join the 'League of Extraordinary Chameleons', take the Dep test. People like lol need to surround themselves with fellow sycophants, those with low self-esteem and extreme envy problems. If you fail the test, maybe you could get one of those impressive and highly respected 'Special Deputy Sheriff' badges they give out. You know, the ones they gave to friends of Mahoney so they could get out of traffic violations and get free burgers from Wendys....

....Oh, wait, they stopped that practice after the Deputy Undersheriff was indicted for numerous crimes. Hmm. How forgetful of me. In fact, I think that guy they just arrested trying to get a visit at Yaphank had one on him. I think that's what tipped them off that he was a felon.
