Worried about how you are

Would that be an invitation to join the same GOP that nearly bankrupted one of the richest Counties in the country?

I saw no signs of failure. I had my services and they were fine. I could afford my house and my life here in Nassau County. Developing every inch of real estate, condemning private homes, foreclosing on tax liens, forcing elderly community spouses to repay medicaid monies for their nursing home spouses and parents of special needs children being forced to (illegally I might add) repay money for their educational needs, sealed confidentiality agreements, accused rapists (literally) put into public office, fees increased on everything and things where no fees once were, now exist - none of that was part of the GOP administration. YOU think you're better off now? Mostly everyone I know is much worse off - unless you live on the north shore. Then sit tight while the rest of us pay off that $50 million bond Suozzi just floated to maintain the grass and trees around your house while he builds low income housing on the south shore.

And furthermore

WHY are school taxes disproportionately higher in districts where assessments are through the roof?

WHY are school districts paying higher costs - and being forced to offer more of the services the county used to pick up?

WHY are teachers, administrators and staff getting paid higher and higher salaries? Here's a clue -- blind as a bat -- because they live here too and their property taxes went through the roof too !

WHY are there so many after school programs with all their associated costs? Here's another clue -- because the county cut down on youth programs, parks programs, pal programs and increased all the fees for county recreational activities.

WHY are there so many fewer middle class families sending their kids to public school while so many illegal immigrant freeloaders cram into the classrooms - and what is the CE doing about THAT?

The budget might look good but fella - it looks good at YOUR EXPENSE !

Go ahead - vote for the m

Ill give them one more chance. I have called several times in the past to see how I can help MY party and nobody (ABSOLUTELY NOBODY) would ever return my phone call. If I dont get a call this time, ill look to do something else.

Im sorry that its getting more and more obvious to me that the repub and dem party only works on the national level (and dem party not too good at that). In NY on the national level, my republican vote has always been meaningless!!!!!

But, Ill give it one more try.

Hang in there Pinto

I called the clubhouse and nobody called me back either so I had to find out where my club meets from a friend who found out from his own club. We're working headless right now - but hopefully - the ball will be back on track soon. Tell me the town you're in and I'll try and find out who your club leader is and post back here.

And believe me --- you're doing the right thing !

With you Pinto

At least the GOP held it together for 30 some odd years.

This guy couldn't do it for 3.

And what's that I hear now - they want to make you pay your overassessed taxes before giving you a chance to grieve? Now weitzman and suozzi are both accountants right? I'm not but doesn that mean - if you don't pay your money you don't get anything back but if you pay your money you not only are entitled to get your money back - but interest too?

So now it's another game these two play and the voters are so stupid they'll go for it because Newsday won't do it's job and print the truth.

They want to collect the money they know they might not be entitled too - even if it means sending us all into bankruptcy court - which they don't care about (The GOP did) - so they can have a balanced budget on the books, and any money they absolutely have to refund they can do it using the bonds they're floating through the end of 2005, -then in 2006 when the Suozz is hopefully long gone - to Washington HE THINKS - the county will go bust again because all this money will have to be paid back.

Wise guys. Tell your neighbors what's REALLY going on - not newsdays version of it.
