According to Newsday there was a bomb threat and that is why the LB Bridge and LIRR were shut down.

Its funny how it took 2 Long Beach Police Lieutenants to direct traffic according to Long Beach;s City Manager (Newsday). That's like $300 per hour per lieutenant, especially since the Nassau County Police Department had full control over the scene.

A cop couldn't direct traffic? Pathetic! LBPD hard at work!
