Anybody catch him on news12 tonight talking about the airplane incident at islip MacArthur Airport. Makes me wonder why HE always has to contact the media when something happens. His title is Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. His official responsibilities include preparing the town in case of a large scale emergency. He is charged with assisting the town emergency resources with the appropiate training as it applies to the specific function that must be performed. His job is to help prepare the town. Once an emergency has occurred. His job no long is in play. He is not an Emergency Manager. He has no job function when an emergency happens. Now..he wants everyone to believe that he is required to respond to all the emergencies townwide. But let me remind you all..his title in no way shape or form state that he has this responsibility. So even though his vehicle, shirts, business cards all say OEM, guys..he gave himself that title. This is not slander..this is a fact. It is a matter of public record. He is NOT an OEM..he is an EPC. In fact if he shows up on the fireground, one should question how or why he got thier. He has no authoritative power. He can be asked to leave. If the officer in charge requested him, fine. I have yet to find a single chief that requested his presence. Im sure he can provide some assistance on the fireground. But the simple fact is, if you read his job duties specified in the title he was hired at, he has no reason whatsoever for showing up to an emergency...its simply not his job

If the county has a title of Emergency Manager, then he and the Town of Islip are violating civil service laws. Here is an example, if the Town hires a public safety officer, that PSO can not just re title himself as a Suffolk County Police Officer..why..a title exists. It seems from earlier threads that this Gimble person has infact violated the Civil Service Law.

All one has to do is file a complaint with Suffolk County Civil Service

Reminds me of when the good corporal returned home, instead of coordinating all the tower ladders for the arches through county coordinators it all had to go through our boy Rick. No chances taken that someone else may get some credit or a piece of that spotlight. Nope it must be Rick front and center. MAN CHARGED WITH IMPERSONATING A COP

He claimed to be a retired police officer and carried a badge, a loaded handgun, a dagger, billy club and blackjack - but he was a fake, Port Washington police said.

Peter Pinto, 59, of Queens, faces a court hearing Wednesday after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the North Shore village - and ended up facing far more serious charges of weapons possession and criminal impersonation.

He was arrested Monday night after a Port Washington police officer saw him driving a 2004 Hyundai the wrong way on a one-way street, Haven Avenue, police said.

When the officer stopped Pinto on Main Street, Pinto showed a police shield and said he was a retired New York City officer, police said. But Pinto had no official identification card, prompting the officer to investigate further.

The officer found Pinto was carrying a fully loaded .380 caliber Walther PPK semi-automatic handgun in a holster on his waistband, police said. Police said he was also carrying a fraudulent security identification card as well as the dagger, billy club and blackjack.

The Oakland Gardens, Queens, resident was charged with three counts of possession of a dangerous weapon; and one count each of criminal possession of a weapon, possession of a forged instrument and criminal impersonation.

Pinto is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday at First District Court, Hempstead

But the two new guy's were told do it on there own time if they want to keep working at Fire Rescue. Wow. Just wow. All of Fire Rescue needs to take department physicals. Because it is required by NFPA. Scene when do maintenance personal follow NFPA requirements. Rememeber thats right all Fire Rescue personal are paid as maintenance personal. But the new boss says if you don't get a physical a letter will be sent to labar relations to authorize an immediate sick leave at your expense until the physical is complete. Can this even be done. You would think the union would have a probelm with this. But he is the new boss that is on the nolan team. So get use to it

I think we have all missed one MAJOR point that has yet to be mentioned in any of these threads. Let us think about this rationally and without prejudice for one second. There have been many accusations that Rick Gimbl had something to do with Lee leaving the airport. There has been accusation that Phil Nolan and his crew forced Lee to leave the airport. Now it appears the latest accusation on this site is that the newly appointed Chief (Marino) may have had something to do with Lee leaving the airport. That certainly seems like a lot of accusations. From what I was told, Lee “retired” from the airport. People from Nolan’s administration were pouring over GPS records for every single town employee that was assigned a vehicle, including GPS records of airport employees. My very reputable source tells me that a major discrepancy was found in the time that Lee signed in for and the time that his GPS reflected. One could draw a conclusion that Lee was illegally getting paid to be home. This evidence was presented to Lee, and rather than get fired, Lee was given an opportunity to retire with dignity. After all is said and done, Lee retired and was never charged with anything. So here is the questions..If Lee did nothing wrong…WHY DID HE RETIRE? Think about it guys. If you had a perfectly reasonable explanation for a discrepancy with your payroll…an explanation that could save your job…wouldn’t you provide it? Wouldn’t you fight for your reputation? Wouldn’t you happily embarrass your accusers? Why would the option to retire earlier than anticipated be the answer? So an entire Chiefs Council is in uproar over this, but is it possible that other issues and an obvious dislike for a few people has been clouding the whole issue. Like I suggested earlier, without prejudice..think about it guys. Take all the names and faces away from the issue and just look at the evidence that is out there. After you get done thinking about that, ask yourself. How is it Gimbl, Nolan and Marino are the ones who bullied Lee out of his civil service position. That is some pretty serious character assassinations…without any credible evidence to prove otherwise.
If opinions are a driving force behind this..Then here is mine. I believe Rick has a history of being the type of person he is accused of. But guys I don’t think you’re looking at the right person here. The Nolan administration has asked many people to resign after discrepancies were found in their GPS records. As far as I’m concerned...that is a gift. Any of us in the private sector would have been on our asses on the street if we did the very same thing. Blaming the slew of people without taking a look at the big picture is not right. We all tend to make a decision and impressions based on our opinions of somebody..that’s why Rick’s name is out there..that’s why Nolan’s name is out there..That’s why Marino’s name is out there…
It is a damn shame what happened to Lee...He happens to be a really nice man. But he was able to retire with dignity...if you had the same evidence against you….would you have been offered the same.
