Seems yet another big money judgment has went against the bosses in the PD... nice going... arrogant and almighty... until it gets to a jury apparently!

Wonder if the county is going to cover the former PC, DPC, and Robo on this one?

It's fun to watch these clueless saviors get theirs when it comes to court... Levy will leave the county with the same legacy.... he'll move on and the fallout from all his games will come home to roost on the backs of the taxpayers!

The three will be indemnified and the taxpayers in Suffolk will foot the bill, that is if the verdict is not over turned. Even if the verdict/award is overturned its nice to see a win for the guys on the bottom. The upper management of PD/Law Enf in Suffolk has always thought themselves as untouchable but another court decision has gone in favor of the officer in the trenches. Although I think Gallagher was a nice guy but I also think he was a political hack that had no clue as to running a large police department, and although a lot of members don't like Robo I have worked for him and he was pretty decent boss to me.

The only thing Gallagher knew was which desk drawer had the scotch in it.
Bottoms up boys!

Seems like the hammer heads at the top have to pay this one. From this article it doesn't sound like their indemnified to me. Hopefully Levy and Dormer will read this and think twice from now on when they make arbitrary decisions to get back at the members and union for not rolling over. If they think that they'll be held personally liable for these assinine moves they are making, ("holistic policing", "no standby") they may just stop screwing around with the department because they can. If held liable Dormer may have to get another job like head of security at Tanger Outlet and Levy won't be able to pay his mom rent for the basement apartment.....

Acting in their official capacity duties/ making management decisions verdict will probably be over turned to begin with but either way the county will pay. What Suffolk cop has ever had to pay a punitive judgement against them. But it is still nice to see the guy on the bottom winning one.

Federal Civil rights cases, here it was punitive damages the 1st Amendment, for voicing his opinions about the specifics about the order, training and equiptment. He The jury stated both the county AND the individuals are equally held liable to pay. The verdict reflected such. In Federal civil rights cases, a few have lost their job, and had to pay themselves.

pretty much only when the conduct was so far out of their duties that the County had to distance themselves like Wright in HP. and the conduct could also be considered criminal.

Robilotto always had an attitude that he was sooo much smarter than everyone else. He walked around like a rooster and everyone was laughing behind his back.
Those who know him could see him giving ES the order to go from his living room because he was so smart.
He ended up being as big a politician as all the other hacks, although he always denied it.
I wonder how he looked when the award was announced.
There is no way he would ever give any credibility to a lowly P.O. who offered ideas that were different or critical of his.
Pompous ass. Pay up!
