Mr. Galinski is a great and honest man. He has done great things for the community in his years at the Wm. Floyd school district. People who know him believe in him. He did nothing wrong at Roslyn. He did his job and did it well. He did what his bosses told him to. He is getting a raw deal for the actions of others. It is a sad shame.

Look, most people associate with other people with whom they have common interests and goals. Look where he came from and WHO HE KNEW. Look where he ended up AND WHO HE KEPT CLOSE TO. He was brought into the district, and was close with, Gluckin. He was close with the superintendent and we all now have firsthand knowledge of how the Roslyn district bankrolled the hotels and (apparently) gambling that went on while these administrators were supposidly at conferences. There are many, many individuals who have done alot of "good" for the people they were hired to serve. The problem is that too many of these hired individuals get greedy. The jury is out on Mr. G. But the point I'd want to make is that just because someone has done some good, doesn't mean that he hasn't also gone the "other way". It's okay to acknowledge the good he MAY have done, but IT'S NOT OKAY TO USE THAT AS THE REASON FOR IGNORING POSSIBLE FELONY ACTIONS ON HIS PART.

Having spent so many years chairing the William Floyd BOE should provide an indication as to T.G.'s knowledge of just what is acceptable and what is unacceptable, in the way of how the taxpayers money is appropriated. Having said that, he's been suspended from his position at Roslyn due to alleged misuse of the public's money. In T.G.'s case, I don't believe he can plead ignorance. He came from a very strong BOE background at Floyd and HAD to know what was appropriate and what wasn't. If he's done alot of good in different areas, it just makes that all the more sad, and its also a sign of the times. Has anyone noticed how there are so many stories in the papers lately about people who somehow feel they have earned the right to rob the hand the feeds them? As another post said, the jury's still out on T.G. But, the fact that he was suspended speaks volumes.

If my boss tells me your position here requires that you have a car I am taking it. It is actually fairly normal for a person in TG's position to have a car. As a maintenance supervisor you are on call 24hrs a day. You are constantly driving from school to school and in any emergency you must be there. If the people of Roslyn wanted to pay him by the hour it would cost them much more than the price of a vehicle.
The people of roslyn lost a dedicated employee in TG.
I would think he is suspended because Roslyn doesnt like the bad press. The school board members who are still left are trying to cut and run. Just human nature i guess.They Knew everything that was happening with TG because everything that went on was pretty normal stuff. I think he's been lumped in and is suffering the consequences of being in the wrong school district working under the wrong people who have forever tarnished a good man's name.
It's ashame that people could be so cruel and happy to see someone like him go down.

I looked up TG on a search and on there I found that TG went to Nevada (las Vegas) to learn the green team clean or something like that for wich Roslyn wound up winning an award from BOCES for most improved school safety in Nassau County. I also found that he was a key speaker at other conferences speaking of that cleaning system and other topics wich make Roslyn look very good.
Ussually conferences are not held in some boring place or no one would go. When I'm in Vegas or Atlantic City I go play some Black Jack.I dont see anything wrong with that. My company may be paying for my hotel and meals but not for my gambling. I bet that Roslyn was not paying for gambling.

Maybe your right about TG. But the thing I have trouble getting past is how long he has been friends with the very people who are now in trouble with the law. That doesn't make him guilty (that is, guilty by association). It just makes things really suspicious. Also, some of the comments posted on the Roslyn School District thread are not very complimentary (to put it mildly), and I'm speaking about comments that were apparently placed by the people who report to him. I can't recall one positive comment but I can recall many negative ones. Why is that?

Your right about the trips. If we were invited to a conference with the Superintendent of Schools of all people, and he told you or me we weren't going to attend the conference but were going to gamble or play golf, I certainly wouldn't have questioned him. And if the Superintendent told me it was okay to bring my wife on a trip, I certainly would have invited her, not for one moment thinking it may have been inappropriate.

I think that there may be other things we don't know about that have come up, or things that P.G. will rat people out on, that we may hear about. I hope that is not the case, but I fear it will be, because of just how long they have been associated with one another. People with like interests/goals usually stick together. That said, we all need to wait and see what comes out of all of this.

You're right. He oversees (or used to) records managment. He was the district's records management officer. He also oversaw security. I assume its possible that security provided access into the records room and also the central administration building (where P.G. and her niece covered their tracks by shredding documents) without T.G.'s knowledge. But, by the time these documents were destroyed, the scandal had already broken. At the least, as Newsday said, Tassone gave P.G. a head's up cell phone call while she was in Hawaii, the same day he was advised that the DA wanted to look at records. Follow your brain: he and P.G. have known each other for many years. She needed access into the buildings during off-hours and T.G. had the authority to provide access. Can this get any clearer?

There's no way security would, on their own, risk their jobs by letting into these buildings the very people who were under suspicion, at least not without the express direction of the person to whom they reported. So, I think T.G. must have known and provided access.

Records management is located in the maintenance warehouse. I don't think P.G. would have had a key to get in but her main concern anyway were the records in the central admin building. I don't know whether she had a key for the admin building. But, I believe they are all protected with an electronic security system in addition to our security personnel who toured the facility during the off-hours.

According to NYS ED. Law all records to be destroyed must be microfilmed and recorded, then they are to be voted by the BOE and listed in the minutes that they voted in favor of there being shredded. Then the records management clerk is to go to the shredder and witness the shredding. The only minuetes that show ant documents shredded is in 2000, therefore all documents since then were shredded illegally.

Association members who "volunteered" for anything were repremanded by their association presidents for doing so. ER had FT rearrange school hours "slightly" because the teachers were working 2 minutes more than their contract calls for.
