Although a crime , the PTA theft cannot compare to the millions alleged to have been stolen in Roslyn and Floyd. The PTAs get their funds from dues and from fundraisers. Penny ante stuff in comparison.

All school districts on Long Island should be investigated.
All town governments should be investigated.
Start by having a complete audit for all of their activities.
State should step in right away and if to large for them to handle let the Feds have a stab at it.

What's up with this one, a woman stealing from the PTA? Who is responsible for auditing the books of the PTA's to prevent the same kind of school scandal as in Roslyn, or are their budgets slush funds for the schools?

I've seen it happen. PTA treasurer steals. PTA treasurer resigns. PTA officers keep quiet. PTA officers look for special privilege for themselves and their kids. It happens. It happens.

It always made me mad that at the plant sales all the PTA people put the best plants aside for themselves with the public not even getting a chance at them.

It's small, but I'm glad I got a chance to complain about it.

Unfortunately it only takes a few rotten apples and we have them too. It is really hard for civil people to deal with people who would stoop to all this stealing and all the nastiness you find on this site. Where do the kids fit into this mix for people like these?

It is truly an educational system, they learn to steal small amounts in their PTA days. Then they are voted in as board members and they steal big. Then they watch everyone around them and even if they themseves don't steal, they look the other way. Really a great educational system!

Why not? Everybody's doin' it, doin' it! What's a little PTA hand in the cookie jar? It will never compare to the Roslyn, Floyd, Three Village, SCOPE and other thefts.
