How can a district simply call for a re-vote of the same budget that was rejected? I see that in several districts the exact same budget was put up for a re-vote. Isn't that sort a slap in the face of the whole voting process? Can those who still feel the budget should be rejected call for yet another re-vote? A vote on a revised budget makes sense, but how can they justify the same budget being put up again?
Just wondering how or why this is allowed.

I think it's a separate reason why the budget in East Williston got voted down again, despite a very focused campaign by the proponents of the budget to get it passed.

What do you suspect is the reason it was rejected again JJD.
I assume you are a lawyer, so maybe a legal reason, some folks upset with the legal presentation of the budget or propositions?
I think people rejected it for the sheer arrogance of presenting substantially the same document and telling them to take it or see their children penalized. I think the voters called their bluff.

In 2002 the Farmingdale School Budget went down by I believe 48 votes. They presented the exact same budget in June and it won by a landslide.......what does that telll you. BOE = smart business??
This year it failed by 700 some odd votes and they are scrambling like crazy to get this passed. We vote on Monday, June21.

Just wondering how or why this is allowed. I'ts great to see that you are finaly awake. Where have you been? This practice has been going on in all school districts across all of Long Island since I moved here in 1972. Do not be fooled by the over used and usually adhered to adage "I'TS FOR THE CHILDREN"because it's not...
