West Babylon School Budget

West Babylon had an increase not long ago. Now they just got another. When is enough enough? I received a wonderful education when I went to WB. How much could have possibly changed to cause an increase every year? I see kids in 10th grade with a 3rd grade reading level, a kindergartner who doesn't know how to count past 10 or sing the ABCs, teachers in the HS who mock the students, etc. It's time to look into better teachers, not new smart classrooms in which the teachers don't even know how to use the technology. The rebuilding is out of hand in some aspects. My school taxes alone are $4500. It's absolutely absurd.

TIME TO MOVE OUT OF WEST bABYLON. iT IS BEING OVER RUN WITH STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE OUR DISTRICT. THE REVEREND JIMMY JACK FROM OLD FARMINGDALE ROAD IS BRINGING IN MORE AND MORE CITY CRIMINALS. OUR WONDERFUL PRINCIPAL HIDES HER HEAD. NOBLE IS CLUELESS. SECURITY IS NOT SUPPORTED BY THE ADMINISRATION AND THEREFORE TURNS THEIR HEADS.

THE TEACHERS ARE AFRAID OF BOTH THE STUDENTS AND ADMINISTRATION.

WE SHOULD BE SEEING A MAJOR FIGHT BETWEEN THE BLACK STUDENTS AND HISPANIC STUDENTS SOON. ADVISE YOUR CHILD TO AVOID THIS CONFLICT.

I see that in Newsday (the rag) that the school board is asking for another 9.48 increase this year. This is on top of the major increase from last year. When will it end? How many increases do you get at your job that allows for you to be able to afford these pickpockets year after year? Maybe they should focus on finding ways to save us some dollars instead of rubber stamping spending that does not help our children but lines the pockets of some overpaid administrator. I think that this budget should be defeated and that West Babylon should consider this in the next elections for the members of the board. It is time for a change plain and simple. We do not live on the gold coast nor are the citizens of our community considered rich by any standards. It is time to wake up to some facts. When I see kids being forced to have car washes and fund raisers to pay for activities that were used as the premise for last years budget increase it makes me think. When I pass by the High School and see that eyesore of a construction site and see no end to it any time soon it makes me wonder as to what we are exactly paying for? It is high time to make this board accountable for its actions. I would take a hard look at them and wonder if they are worthy of the responsibility that they asked to have. Maybe an audit should be requested. Or is it just a matter of making a major change to the smug members of our school board.

Wow I just read the April post about its time to move out because the baptist preacher is bringing in more kids from the city (aka kids of color which is an immediate sign that all hell is going to break loose) who will figh each other - I mean do you know how racist you sound? lol?

Well. if you REALLY looked CLOSELY at your tax bill, you'd be bitching on the teachers thread, becasue thats where about 60% of your taxes go... so either you don't really know what you're talking about, or you're a teacher.[/b]

The average LI homeowner pays no more than 25% of their property taxes for ALL COUNTY SERVICES. (EX: On a $10,000/Year Property Tax BILL that is $2500/COUNTY TAX per year)
Remember, ALL COUNTY services include:
COUNTY Police dept
COUNTY Highway Dept, Employees, Maintenance, & LIGHTING
ALL COUNTY Civil servants
ALL COUNTY ELECTED OFFICIALS, THEIR Staff, Offices, CARS & Equipment
ALL COUNTY PARKS, Employees & Maintenance
SUBSIDIES to SUFFOLK COMMUNITY COLLEGE (to defray some of Tuition)

WE CANNOT afford $500,000/year equivalent salaries!
AND Guess what? CI Residents are not paying for those salaries YOU ARE!
WHY/How you say?
Because their STATE AID RATE is high so they pay less than 10 CENTS on the dollar for those salaries.
Guess who makes that TAX difference up?
YOU DO!!!
