Had I not read the Newsday corruption article two days before voting, I wouldn't had known. Takes quite a "set" to run for school board under those circumstances, but what the hell is wrong with the people in South Country to almost elect him anyway?

I read the article and it didnt link him to any corruption. In fact it said he went voluntarily with them and that he was one of hundreds that had been questioned. So what's you point.

Lastly I have lived in this community for years and have seen him all over town at community events, nobody seems to have a problem with him. In addition he saved my girlfriends childs life a few years back.

I am very dismayed at the test scores for our district. What is our district planning to do to raise these scores, and how can I help? Any one have an suggestions?

When the former superintendent left our district, he said that we had 1 million dollars in the bank. One week later school officials realized we were 1 million in the hole. Where did 2 million dollars go.

Now the new woman incharge of our finances bought a program for payroll from her friends, that ended up over paying our employees over a hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00)

Poor test scores.
Broken buildings.
Poor planning for the future.

And $2,000,000.00 million dollars missing. Where is the audit for our district.

Our reading and math scores are about the lowest in the county for grade 4. If you check the stats for grade 8 you'll see them going down. At the highschool level we have the lowest percentage of excellent students(#4) of any district. On a bright note there are several private schools in the area which voluntarily use the same standard tests and are willing to post their scores. All are excellent, and not very expensive. Does that answer your question?

I tried very hard to give you solid facts. I avoided personal opinions, and gave you the stats on this district straight from the NYS testing scores. Maybe you just didn't like the information... Well try this fact. In our highschool there is an office set aside for the Suffolk County Dept of Probation, so that our students will find it more convienient to report to their Probation Officer. Sort of a little annex to Suffolk County Corrections Dept. What does this fact tell you.

I was in this district before I moved. I bought my house in Medford before I was married and had a child. I'm glad I am no longer there. Last time I was back on L.I. I visited my old neighbors... they had nothing but bad stories about the schools.
