The largest taxpayer in East Moriches hits the tax rolls in December (Walden Pond). 125k increasing to around 220K next year in school taxes. Add 9% increase in taxes, NO WAY!!!!! I do not believe they accounted for this as income. Remember the Board approved around 75k in 09/03 (full time security and computer toys) and then increased taxes to 8.9%. Most people did not know this. I'd want lower taxes first then if the Board needs to spend on extras wait till after the final tax rate is set and get it from existing budget. It is easier for them to tap the reserve fund, there are no line items and less accountability. New budget at 7%, it can be done. Thank You for new Board members, its time to shake the tree.

Current school budget has part time security.The school board in a private meeting after the budget passed and before two new members come on board change to full time security. The same board gives them a 23% raise. Cash Cow!!!!!!
