What exactly is your political affiliation. you seem mad at the world....

dt part 2

All kidding aside, I actually think that Bill Cunningham was Suozzi's best appointment. Bill Cunningham should be respected for lending his credibility, gravitas, and class to 1 West Street.

You do not hear much about Cunningham BECAUSE of his credibility. Bill Cunningham SAVES the administration from embarrassments, and does not create them. Cunningham is an advisor from a different era, and conducts himself with dignity and grace. Advisors, even those who wield power, are supposed to do so discreetly.

Cunningham would never crow about "surpluses" or make questionable remarks to the press. His words are measured and intelligent. Perhaps, Mr. Cunningham does deserve a County of his own. It must be difficult to continuously keep that playpen in Mineola from self-destructing.

I've watched him first hand, and although saying no ones better in the administration isn't saying much, the guy really is everything dt said he was.
Everyone knows when their side by side Cunningham could have been the CE.

Folks the Republicans are salivating over the prospect of Mr. Cunningham as the Democratic candidate for County Executive. He is only known to die hard political observors and has no "public" success that the public identifies him with - i.e. no positives.
HOWEVER, he does have severe negatives:
*involved in the Clinton pardon scandal
*tied to the hip with Hillary Clinton - who has very, very low positive numbers in Suffolk County
* ZERO NAME RECOGNITION IN SUFFOLK COUNTY
* no record of serving Suffolk voters
* no political base of support in Suffolk County or in the Democratic Party of Suffolk
* too closely aligned with the malfunctioning government in Nassau ("will he bring their baggage here?")
* too much in the pocket of Nassau Cty Exec; he will play second fiddle to Tom Suozzi
*know knowledge of the people of Suffolk nor of their unique concerns or issues
* not familiar with all the communities in Suffolk
* lack of Suffolk Democrats in his camp to help him campaign at a grass roots level.

Folks, lets all hope that the big guy is playing a joke and he stays in Nassau. Leave Suffolk to us!

You are correct!

Hey, if us Suffolk Dems stick together and refuse this guy our nomination then there will be nothing for him to buy.
Billy Boy - keep your butt in Nassau and don't but into our business. 'Nuff said.
