Why isn't any investigative agency looking into the school districts that reported attorneys were full time employees when they weren't for the purposes of getting pensions?
Don't the school districts' superintendents, auditors and accountants bear any responsibility? Were crimes committed by the school districts?
Just something to think about.

Thats a good point. And if they where in the pension system, didnt the districts have to pay into the NYS pension plan ? SHouldnt the tax payers get that money back?

It's the easy way out. It's much easier and politically safer to go after one or two guys than tackle the entire Nassau school system- even though they are complicit in the crimes.
Shame on the school boards, administrators and staff.

Who is to blame for the school districts misspending?

The residents of each of the school districts of Nassau County, that's who.
All the districts budgets passed right along through. The people aren't at all concerned about how the money is being spent as long as they can have football and cheap school lunches.

The people don't care about the sky high school taxes we are paying. The teachers just got contracts for 6% a year for the next 5 years. The majority of people voted this through, yet complain about the CSEA workers making 1/3 of that money, taking zeros and 1% raises, then having to pay these high school taxes, after all the county givebacks and lag pay.

How come I haven't read one word in any newspaper inquiring of the school districts how certain people were able to report they were full-time employees when they were not, in order to receive a state funded pension. When you think about it, out of more than 100 school districts, with more than 100 very highly paid superintendents, asst. superintendents and layers of accountants and support staff, the public is supposed to believe the school districts are completely innocent and didn't know what was going on?
The residents of Nassau and Suffolk deserve more from their elected officials and expect more from the media.

You'll never hear anything. The fix is in and the powers that be don't want the hassle.

You want to change things? Vote against EVERY incumbent regardless of party until we get people who want to do a good job.

Start this November on the town and county levels. Let's see ALL new faces. And we'll do it again next time!

Otherwise, go back to self-satisfying yourself in a corner.
