bob was the kind fo man that came into our shop with a bag of bagels and sat with us and had breakfast. his security detail loved him and would take a bullet for him. Steve Levy is an ass. his security detail Hates him and that says allot!!!! they would dive out of the way of a bullet where tony and frank would dive on Bob... He was a great leader, i say bring back Bob, he would win hands down!!!

You've got to be kidding. The only one Gaffney was great to was all the special interests to who he gave the store away. Under Gaffney, taxes and spending were going through the roof while we had money coming out of our eyeballs through a thriving economy that gave us double digit sales tax figures every year. Sure, some of these employee bloggers loved him because he never put up a fight! Our open space system was crippled by scandal and every hack had their own car that they could take all over the world!

Levy brought in tough management that cut out alot of the Gaffney perks and bargained on behalf of the taxpayer. It's no wonder that the special interests want to revert to the old days. I can only imagine what our taxbill would be if we had the former "good old boys" running the show--giving it all away at the taxpayers' expense.

While some school districts are increasing taxes by 27%, thank goodness we've got a strong manager like Levy who keeps everything under control on the county level. Gaffney might win a vote of county employees but Levy is loved by the average person out in the real world!

Spoken like a true flag waving, paid propaganda spokesman for an out of touch (with reality) egotist.

Argue the vices and virtues of both CEs all you want. The truth is that the quality of life in this county was greater under Gaffney, and the tolerance of its citizens for each other was far greater under his administration.

And I don't even need to mention which administration enjoyed greater law enforcement and collaboration between agencies (and lower crime). Even Pat Halpin recognized the contributions of his employees and gained union concessions in difficult economic times.

I believe that if and when Mr. Levy recognizes the value of the human element within county government, only then will he be able to achieve what he's looking for.

I believe it was Halpin the imposed a lag payroll on the unions without any negotiations. he was then sued by the unions. Get your history straight.

Whatever you think of Levy, this post is total BS. Steve Levy does not have a security detail. When he ran for office, he said it was not needed and he would get rid of it. Unlike Tom Suozzi, who promised the same thing, he kept his word.
