Just like the Ditech commercial. BFD's new motto is "Lost another one to SCHWUBBY".
Brentwood lost another building last night. They had to call in mutual aid from 8 fire departments. This was unheard of just 5 years ago. How many structures do they have to lose until they realize that their chiefs are nothing more then tyrants out to destroy the department?

Guy your lost the fire was contained with minimal damage to the building, the building is still standing and will probably be ready for business tomorrow if not later today yeah we mutual aided allot of depts that's because of the size of the building and the weather, please stop posting your bullshit lies about something you know nothing about

any firefighter should know just because a dept calls 8 24's it doesnt mean they lost the building.
RIT teams, standbys and back up calls are the smart thing to do when you have a Industrial or commercial fire.
I'm not in Brentwood or even in the town of Islip..but it sould like someone has it out for BWood.

let me just say as the driver of the first due engine to swimline the chiefs did a great job in handeling the job. the truck company did a great job locateing the fire in such a big building and the engine cos did a great job putting out the fire the fire was located in a mezzanine storage area there was no way to get to the fire the guys did a great job putting it out as for all the 24s if this thing got out of control we would of needed all the help we could get thats how big the buidling is ,isnt that what mutual aid is for?oh and by the way the fire was blowing out of the roof before we got there and we saved the damn building thanks to all the depts who came down to lend a hand

Sounds like this moron has it out to ruin a great dept. I love it when anonymous jerks try to blow something way out of proportion. Meanwhile this guy can't get his dog to sit, but he is going to tell us what went wrong at a multiple alarm fire. WAY TO GO HERO!!!!! I used to work for BLA as a medic, and I am a vollie FF in my town. I have never seen such a great display of volunteer firefighting then in Brentwood. These guys know their stuff and thats the bottom line. I am not in Islip Town, but I would go to battle anytime with a brother from Brentwood. Keep it safe Fella's.
There's nothing like a standing building to rebut the lie that, somehow, you "lost" it. Fire blowing out of the roof when you get there, and it's still standing? That's a home run to me, Brentwood. Well done.
I've always thought it the mark of a really good department that it calls out a second, or even a third alarm, and has mutual aid on standby, whenever there's a commercial fire, particularly in a big building, and particularly when the situation is already ugly when you get there.
As another poster said, you can always send them home, and in the meantime, they're at your house backing you up, or they're right in the neighborhood if needed. And if you've mutualed a good department, there will be some guys to help you repack when you're done.
I don't know why somebody would start a lie like this. There is a suitable place in hell (with no mutuals in sight) for him whoever he is.

The funny thing is, Brentwood has a history of NOT using mutual aid for certain neighboring departments. It's just funny to see how eratic they are. Looks like they blew their load when they pulled up to the scene before they did a size up.

the only load blown was your own, the officers and chiefs did a size up and after stretching two 2 1/2 handlines one 1 3/4 handline and suppressing the fire, the 24's started mostly for over haul it was a huge factory with allot of contents, certain departments were 24'd as fast teams and to stand by at the main headquarters for other alarms which we had 2 additional alarms during the 35, We hardly blew our load with that fire, you must be in a department that we didn't 24 that night and are disgruntled you couldn't come get some smoke on your gear, i think you shot your load waiting for your dept to be 24'd

I think that it is absolutely ridiculas, that this mf can stand in the middle of a hazmat training class and say the ignorant shit that he comes up with. I've been at many of fires with the NEW "60" when he was a LT. You would very rarely see this guy in the thick of things. I can remember one particular fire in his companys 1st due area. He's the officer "61", and the 3rd man on the primary attack line. OK. Mind you there was a shit load of fire.Needless to say command pulled everyone out and started an exterior attack because this officer forgot to strap on his balls when he doned his scba.Why do you think it took him so long to become "60", he is just simply a poor excuse of an officer. I don't think this guy could find his own ass with both hands. This fire was put out by the 3rd due engines crew and an aggressive truck team.
In all fairness though, "81" should'nt be put in the same catagory. Not a big fan of him, but he's a damm good fireman, and knows how to be a good officer.What ever the old man does should'nt be linked to him, it not his fault.
Hopefully the current chiefs office will handle this problem , if they don't it's a slap in the face not only to the members but to the whole brotherhood ( so called )especially to the Holderman family ( sorry if the name is spelled wrong ). For those who don't remember, he was one of the 343 so called idiots on 9-11 who the Department honored because he was from the neighborhood. The department was reconized by his company for doing so with a very nice plaque that is displayed in either the goldroom or cassidy room not sure which.
I hope other departments don't view BFD in a bad light because of this guy.Remember he's only 1 guy who doesn't even have the courage to go the next class and apologize for his actions. He chose the cowardly way like does at all 13-35's and back out, and this guy is a leader WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!

Can Brentwood ever get out? they are pathetic, why do they even tone out the call, no one is coming. Imagine what goes through the dispatchers mind when he tones it out? He knows no ones a coming, and he is just going through the motions while people are dying. Imagine what homeowners insurance rates are like there? They should definitely be voted the worst department on the island, I dare one of their members to come on here and try and defend this embarrasment to the service.

:shock: You people need to wake up. You were warned over a year ago that somebody was going to get killed. Everyone in the department knows the truth as to why they didn’t get there in time. The bad leadership has chased out the volunteers. It is the lack of leadership that has let the community down. This department that lost the 3 lives is a disgrace and it is not the whole department just some bad apples and that is what happens when the bad apples take control. They don’t care about the community or even the men that they call their brothers. The chiefs and the commissioner are out of control and they need to be investigated and held responsible for this. They have been chasing people out for years and it won’t stop until they get what they want. They have been playing games with peoples lives for a long time and I hope the truth comes out this time. That family deserved a better chance to survive and it is a shame all that will happen is a bunch political BS. This is not the only family that they let down and it won’t be the last. Volunteering systems work they just need to be monitored a little better so they can’t turn it into their private club and do what they want. I don’t think this is the last you will hear from me and I cant wait to read some of the BS some of you fools will write. I think Newsday exposed a lot about the volunteer fire department in the last few years but they’d be shocked if they dug even deeper. :idea: :twisted:

The volunteering system can work and it has worked for a very long time.
But there are some of your brothers who are trying to bring down the
system. You think they want it to stay volunteer but they don't. They
want to get paid and I don't mean everybody. They are not happy with
the overpaid and under worked jobs that they got for their family
members. Just go look and see how many of their family members work
there. Most of the employees are related to the commissioners or the
chiefs. :oops:
They try as hard as they can to chase the members out and to
spend as much money as they can. Then they sit and try and act like they
are trying to safeguard the community and they're not. It is a shame that
those three people died for no good reason and I am not saying that they
would have been saved but they deserved a better chance (they were let
down). You can try and blame the family for not calling fast enough but
the bottom line is when they did, it still took too long. I think if they
knew that the department was going to let them down they would have
called a little sooner and maybe call a company in the next town. :?

It is a shame how you clowns try to make it as if you are so great. Most FF are good people trying to do the right thing but there are some that have their personal motives. You know there are some bad people in this group. This is not the first time they failed the community and it won't be the last. When some loser gets a big title you need to have somebody make sure he doesn’t abuse it. This department has more than one person in the position that abuses their power. Just look at the membership it’s a joke and that is from bad management they chased everybody that they don’t like out. Somebody should really take a look at this very closely it is a shame that they lost their lives because some people think they can do what ever they want. Shame on you I hope you can sleep well at night because the community can’t.

Many Depts have become poor man social clubs. Chasing out the good, and keeping the "knife and forkers". Last one to a fire, but first to a free night of food. booze and dancing. There are other factors into why 3 people died, including factors OUTSIDE the Brentwood Fire Dept.'s hands.
So when 3 people die in Setauket, Miller Place, Montauk or Oceanside, will it be their fault as well?
System needs work. Don't blame it all on the vollies. There are actually some damn good ones. But get rid of your knife and forkers, and your "Dinner Brigade". Disband your racing teams, and close the rec rooms.
Then like the wife of the Vollie in Rockville Centre said " Do that, and your true volunteer firemen will remain." Never truer words spoken.
Now that the selden arrests have come down lets see if the big and bad Board in Brentwood change thier tones ! Are they still going to allow the Chiefs election to go on knowing now that they are being watched ? After they asked for a legal opinion and were told that a district employee can not run for the chief office due to a conflit of interest - but "if no challenges it we won't say anything" but we know it is illegal !!
They just don't get it - why bring attention to themselfs - Becouse they are cocky !!!

I thought that as a member of the FDNY the unions do not want members being involved in the volunteer service let alone being a board member. Hey big Mike do they know ?

They won't stop their games until somebody stops them. Just look at the article in Newsday this past week. That clown (bfd x chief retard) should be the poster child of what is wrong with these organizations. They should investigate his contracts with the district for radio work.
Don't forget, that these employees are all family members, it is nice to get family an overpaid job to sit around and do nothing all day.
But from what I hear, investigations are comming to Brentwood. Let's see how cocky they are now (thanks to an old friend, what comes around goes around).
