I'd be interested to know what people think about the tax cuts Bush wants to accelerate to this year.
Democrats have blasted Bush for favoring the rich in his tax breaks. (If that sort of statement isn't the "class warfare" that the Dems accuse Bush of, I don't know what is.) It makes sense that whoever pays the most taxes will be the ones who benefit the most from ANY tax break.
Well, what most people don't know is that the top 10% of income earners in the US pay over 2/3 of all income taxes, while the bottom 50% of income earners pay less than 5%. Clearly, the "rich" are inevitably going to benefit from any tax cut because they are the ones paying the vast majority of taxes.
The media, however, doesn't like this kind of statistic. It just might reveal the fact that the media is incredibly liberal. And of course the Democrats will skew the truth as much as they can. They always do.
